The Investment Plan provides the advantages of 529 plans and allows you to choose from investment options provided by Vanguard, one of the nation's largest financial services companies.
Select from 13 options, from conservative to balanced to aggressive - including three Age-Based portfolios.
Your return is based on the performance of the underlying funds, which are comprised of stocks, bonds, and other investments, depending on the investment options that you select - which means your return could be higher or lower than the rate of tuition inflation.
The Investment Plan does not offer a guarantee that your savings will match the rate of college tuition inflation. Investment returns are not guaranteed, and you could lose money by investing in the Investment Plan.
Neither the Account Owner nor the Beneficiary needs to be a Pennsylvania resident to participate in the Investment Plan.
Download the 529 Investment Plan enrollment application to establish a new Investment Plan account, or enroll online. Be sure to read the Plan Disclosure Statement carefully for important information about the plan.
If you need answers to any of your questions, any forms, or assistance filling out the enrollment application, call 1-800-440-4000.
The Pennsylvania 529 College Savings Program sponsors two plans-the Guaranteed Savings Plan (GSP) and the Investment Plan (IP). The guarantee of the PA 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan is an obligation of the GSP Fund, not the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any state agency. Before investing in either plan, please carefully read that plan’s disclosure to learn more about that plan including investment objectives, risks, fees, and tax implications.
